Club Championship Eligibility Clarification: In the special news bulletin earlier this year, it was announced that to compete for the Club Championship, you must play in at least 6 tournaments throughout the calendar year. This means that when the tournament is played in May, 2005 you must have played at least 6 tournaments in 2004.

A Note from the Handicap Chairman...
NCGA Handicap ReportElectronic Notification
The NCGA has notified the Handicap Chairperson of the intent to move to electronic notification of your monthly handicap. If you have not already done so, please notify NCGA of your email address. You may inform the NCGA through the Holiday Golf Group website. Contact the Handicap Chairperson to enter your email address. Your handicap report will arrive via email near the end of each month announcing your upcoming Handicap Index. The report will detail your scoring record (including two lowest tournament scores of the past 12 months). Beginning in 2005, the HGG will no longer send out the handicap stickers.
The most direct means of registering your email address is via the NCGA web site (www.ncga.org). Just click on Register Your Email Address under Latest NCGA News on the websites home page. You will be required to enter your NCGA/GHIN number, your last name exactly as it is presently recorded with GHIN and your email address. The NCGA will forward your address to GHIN.
NO NEED TO POST HOLIDAY GOLF GROUP TOURNAMENT SCORES
Just a reminder to the members, when playing HGG tournaments, there's no need to post, we post for you, but in regular play, golfers are required to post according to the following schedule:
| # of Holes Played |
Scores to Post |
| 1-6 |
Can't post |
| 7-12 |
9-hole Score |
| 13-18 |
18-hole Score |
Before posting, a golfer must apply Equitable Stroke Control (ESC). ESC is the downward adjustment of individual hole scores for handicap purposes in order to make handicaps more representative of a player's potential ability.
For example:
Ron Bolden Sr. is playing James Foster. Ron's hdc is a 19 and James is a 8. After completing 18 holes, Ron has 10 strokes on 3 of the holes. His net score is 102 but because he could only have no more than 7 strokes per hole, he has to drop 9 of the strokes, which makes his (posting score a 93). (Not his net playing score).
Equitable Stroke Control
| Course Handicap |
Maximum # on any hole |
| 9 or less |
Double Bogey |
| 10 through 19 |
7 |
| 20 through 29 |
8 |
| 30 through 39 |
9 |
| 40 or more |
